They delayed it in 2023 until weather comditions improved. Good to see they waited until now and looking st closures in June where the weather will be amazing 🤔

This round about is a political football, in two years they'll rip it up in favour of traffic light, this raft of roadworks is a con job to milk money. Thus is the real agenda behind the commonwealth games money. Once all this comes out in the open the council and state government will have egg on their face. It's called belt and road, Google it!

Are rate payers paying for this crap

Any pilot program,Des Hudson, should be a ratepayer and Government funded domestic violence program. That’s where the real value in the future is. The City needs to be 110% responsive to the DV epidemic and women being killed and injured. It’s our backyard.

Uniting and other orgs that assist the homeless need to be funded properly, Reid’s Guest House is the only homeless shelter in Ballarat for men and women and Uniting are closing it down which only leaves Peplow House for men who only house 20 at a time and no women, we need a shelter here in Ballarat especially with winters here.

Hairy fairy comments from. Local politicians get no traction. Core current social and business issues need to be addressed, simple as that.

The City of Ballarat is engaging with the community on future events and activities on 26 January.

Council acknowledges that the significance of 26 January can mean different things to different people and cultures.

We are seeking feedback from all sections of the community to ensure the range of demographics and opinions are captured in a respectful way.

Please register via mysay.ballarat.vic.gov.au/ and fill out our survey.

Alternatively paper surveys are also available at City of Ballarat Customer Service, City of Ballarat Libraries, Parent Place, Eastwood Leisure Centre, Alfredton Community Hub, Eureka Centre, and the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre.

An engagement report will be provided back to Council in July 2024.

While the homeless are sleeping in the green roofed table area outside Target!

Rates Roads & Rubbish no Woke cause please

Why is it that most Councillors simply do not know how to DEBATE the issues?
We watch hundreds of meetings, most Councillors "talk" or "grandstand" but they do not debate.

Debating requires the Councillor to PERSUADE the audience and their fellow Councillors.

If you have been to a Council meeting, which Council? Do they debate or spew rhetoric? Which Councillors? Which Councillors like the sound of their own voice?
Are CEO's entering debate when not asked?

Has anyone seen what a good debater looks like?

What try and Debate with these 9 Clowns 🤡 we have to put up with here in Ballaarat. They wouldn't know how too.

We cant however call out stupid council decisions and even more councillors spending 30% of the meeting discussing The Gaza conflict WTF

We were recently contacted by a person on behalf of Victoria Department of Transport and Planning about several focus group sessions relating to the use of compact roundabouts (one of the sessions is being held at the Lucas Community Hub on May 22):

Compact roundabouts – tell us your views!

Do you drive in the Mornington/Inverloch/Ballarat area?

We’re looking for drivers of cars, trucks and heavy vehicles, as well as riders of motorcycles and bicycles, to tell us about their experience using compact roundabouts.

Come along to a focus group in May. Click on
landing.abley.com/compact-roundabout-focus-group for more details and to register your interest.

An incentive will be provided to attendees who participate.

This research is being carried out on behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).

Wouldn’t need them if people could drive to the road rules in the first place!

When a bridge repair gets "uncovered" during works in Bridge St and its cost is a $5 million dollar overrun, when the Ballarat contribution to the Lake lights goes $500K over budget and when a $2 million underestimate for contaminated soil removal at Wendouree has to be paid for, along with the dozens of other wasted $ projects, I'm not surprised there is no money left for nice things for the people. As for the marathon, a wonderful event for Ballarat, but dont destroy Ballarat businesses who rely on the weekend trade. These businesses need to have 2 weeks rates refunded or something along those lines to make up for a total loss.

Councilors expressing concern about homelessness is no more useful than American politicians offering thoughts and prayers when people are shot in a mass murder. Kind words don't fix issues like this. Has the local council spent any time lobbying state or federal government for the funds to turn Reid's into a homelessness venue that meets modern standards? How about our federal minister for local government - Catherine King or our other local MPs? UnitingCare do an amazing and somewhat thankless job and have done for many years. They deserve as much support as council and politicians can give.

This council is expressing the thoughts and supporting lack of actions similar to the Irish potato famine........ It's not our responsibility we had better not help them or they may become reliant.

What a hypocrite Mayor Hudson has proven himself to be - here he states that homelessness is not a Council problem and should be left to State and Federal Governments, yet last week he was one of the five that voted against the motion that Council not get involved in broader issues such as the Israeli - Hammas conflict. Pretty sure that caring for our homeless is more of a local issue, that Council can have input into, than conflict in other parts of the world.

I have no issue with being sympathetic to National and International issues but let the proper bodies deal with it. The State and Federal Government. Our Local Government needs to stick to local issues. We dont call a plumber to fix an electrical fault. So why are our local council debating international issues? From memory Cr Moloney promised to clean up the old rail line reserve that runs across Cuthberts rd in his last council campaign. Still looks overgrown as ever. Focus on our citizens who are struggling. Potholes and a hard rubbish pickup would be a good start…

I absolutely love what Paul Tatchell & Gary Smith .Has said there so well said there gentlemen. 10/10.

You can lead the horses to water but can't force them too drink, & you can give councillors the truth but one can't think for them
